Carrie by Stephen King
No one can say that I don’t try with Stephen King! I think it’s fair to say that I am not a fan, but the lovely people who set up the list clearly are. I thought this book might be a little different to the others as this is his debut novel. Unfortunately, I feel that his books are useful as a basis for scriptwriters only. The movie is a little dated, so wait for the reboot with Chloë Grace Moretz that’s coming out next year. Read the rest of this entry »
First off I think I should mention that I like dinosaurs, and that I’m a huge fan of the Jurassic Park movie adaptation. I don’t often read a book after watching the movie, if I’m interested in reading the book at all, I try doing so before watching the movie. People often say that the book is always better than the movie, and generally that true in a sense as the book isn’t trying to play out in 90 minutes. That being said, I honestly think the movie was the better story here. There are substantial differences between the book and the movie. The fundamentals of the story remain the same though. A few days late, but here’s the update! This post was supposed to go up last week, or over the weekend. Unfortunately, I’ve been stuck in bed with respiratory tract infection which hasn’t allowed me to do very much of anything. In any case, I’m very happy to report that the books I read this past month were all quite enjoyable – even the Stephen King!
